We Are The Champions!

Well, at least for this Saturday at Scotty's Bar and Grill here in Corozal. The team Dianna was playing on, (Rick, Peggy, Manny, and Dianna) beat out the other two teams for that honor.
Dianna, Showing Her Championship Form
And what an honor it is too. The winning team members each get a free Belikin and $10.00 BZD off their bar tab. That's pretty cool, I must say.
Regina Getting Ready to Shoot Some Darts
What fun. Most folks playing either are total neophytes or have very little experience shooting darts. Oh, sure, there's the odd few who are 'pro's', but the atmosphere is strictly for fun and conviviality. Nobody criticizes the poor shots, everybody laughs and has a good time.
Sporting The New Scotty's T-Shirt
Of course, the teams are all 'pick-up' teams. That is, whoever shows up, gets picked for a team. You seldom play with the same people on your team twice in a row.
Donna Getting Advice On Her Shot
Nancy, Scott, Kristen and Shireen all make sure the food is good (A nice selection of burgers and other sadwiches and pizza too) and that the Belikin is cold. The ceiling fans are on high, and it's a nice way to spend an afternoon. It's a tough job for them, as chances are, they're playing as well.

Hi Vivien,

Anytime. You'll have a great time. The food is very good and playing darts is a real hoot.

Only six months till November...

Cheers,
Dave

Actually Dave, 196 days until we are back.

Hi Vivien,

Now you're talking. However, I'm a former expert on 'short-timer's calendars' from a former life...

Shouldn't that be 195 'and a wake-up'?

Anyway, it won't happen too soon.

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks for the nice write up Dave. Good to see you and Dianna out for darts. It is a lot of fun and the group is a fun group to play, drink, and eat with. I had to leave and go back to my other home in Oregon but am anxious to get back again!

Hi Dave (and Dianna),

I seem to remember following a blog a while back of a young lady that started Scotty's Bar. Is she still running the place. I think I've seen her blog lately but she's been traveling (or so I think I remember).

Oh well, we missed that bar our last trip to Corozal so maybe next time.

It sure looks like fun....

Hi Scotty,

We had a very enjoyable time. Hopefully we'll be able to make it more often for darts.
Hurry back.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Julian,

I think you may be thinking of Nancy. She runs Scotty's. Her daughter, Kristen also workes there and she has a blog. Unfortunately I don't know the URL of it. Maybe somebody will fill us in on that.

It not only looks like fun, it is.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Rick,

Thanks. I'm assuming that link is to Kristi's blog. I looked all around on it and didn't find anything that said it really was her's, so I'll assume it is.

If I go back to Caye Caulker, remind me to pass on eating at Don Corleone's. Sounds like just the place to avoid.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Julian,

The young lady that has the blog is Kristi and is the daughter of Nancy who runs the place. You can find her blog at http://www.belizedragonfly.com.

Pardon the redundant post on Kristi's blog. I see it was answered after I submitted a comment :(

D & D:

Scott's Bar sound like the place I use to visit in Boston, "Cheers", were everyone knew your name. The Bar you go to sounds terrific, and I'm sooooo jealous, esp. w/ all the warm WX, fun, food, and good company.

Keep up the "fun" posts!! I'm still thinking about flying south.
