More Work Inside

Day Fifty and Fifty-One, 02 - 03 December, 2015

Finish work always seems to slow a project down. It does as there's much more attention to detail to get the job done.

There's still a few pieces to go for the shower.

Bits and Pieces For Shower Ready to Go In 12-2 - 2.02

Errol is just about done with the plastering of the bedroom.

This is where the water heater will be installed, just outside the bathroom in the walkway. Here they're knocking holes for the hot and cold water feed as well as the butane gas run. There's no special reason why the heater went here other than convenience. It's still semi-inside and well protected from the weather.

Bathroom vanity plumbing is ready for the cabinetry, once the walls receive their color coat. Notice the outlet lower left - that's for the Cat Genie automatic kitty box.

Here's the run for the shower head. Looks like it will be at a nice height.

Both pocket door frames are in. Parts of them will be taken back out to facilitate installation of the doors themselves.

More progress on the inside of the house.

Day Forty-Seven, 27 November, 2015

Not so much re-sized as repositioned. The original positioning was a bit too high. We'd have had to use a stool or step-ladder to get to the control. Much better this way.

Resized Window Over Toilet

Carl and Omar have hit it as far as the right color shade for the inside of the house - a very light blue. Not paint, but a wash of tint and mortar should give us the texture and effect we're looking for.

Omar is finishing the screen opening around the walkway and the window/louver opening for the house proper.

Each of the window opening in the house will have a slight downward slope to the outside to encourage proper drainage away from the window openings. Not that we're anticipating much moist

The shower walls will be finished soon, as far as their construction is concerned. Here's a stack of 4" block that will be the wall that holds the shower controls.

A slight break in the action to show our repairs to the pool are done and its filled again. That only took thirteen hours to fill. I let it do that while we slept. Sure is looking good.

Here's out pocket doors. We're keeping the basket-weave constant throughout the house. Looks pretty good, I must say.
