Lightened My Load

Yesterday, I went for a haircut. I do that periodically to get rid of split-ends and just keep the stuff from getting all tangly. I went a bit further.

Yup. That's right. Apparently I got a little too close to the weed whacker. Not that my hair is now as short as, say, a 'flat-top', but still, it is shorter. I don't know that my head feels any cooler not having all that hair hanging down my back. It does feel lighter.

Something else too. Lourdes Saldivar (Hairwaves Salon 501-628-9065) took a goodly amount of my hair to donate to the Belize Cancer Society (http://www.belizecancersociety.org.bz/) for wigs for folks undergoing cancer treatment here in Belize. They have a minimum length and some other restrictions on what hair they will accept, so, I'm glad that all went to do some good. The rest ended up on the floor - and there was a significant amount in both places.

I didn't want everybody to go freaking out that my hair got 'tieved' or something. It was just something that I'd been thinking about for a while as something different and I just decided to take action on it.
