Monday evening we had our first guests over for dinner. Nigel, Jenni, and Annie (their house guest) all came over for some (get this) barracuda stew. Earlier in the day, Cody, our caretaker, had brought an already cleaned, fresh-caught 4 or 5 pound barracuda for us. It cost $12.00BZ ($6US), but what the hey, expense was no object!
Lordy, Lordy, was it good too! Even Annie, who normally doesn't eat fish, ate a fair share. I think by the time we were done, we were all ready to pop.
Jenni and Nigel brought a tasty pineapple wine to go with the dinner. We demolished two bottles to help wash down the fish. The wine was pretty tasty stuff as well.
Our kitties think Nigel and Jenni can do no wrong. In the nick of time, they brought a HUGE bag of kitty litter back from Belize City. The timing for that couldn't have been better. D's grocery up on the hill and probably the most US-style grocer here, still hasn't received any litter. Without the bag from Jenni and Nigel, things would be in dire straits around here. Thanks guys!
We got three other meals out of that barracuda. Man! Have you ever heard anyone say "We're having leftovers again
