Before 'n After

Emily said in her comment that she was confused by the photo of my new haircut. It didn't look particularly short to her. Ok. I'll grant that it isn't what you'd call 'short' in the way that a crew-cut or a flat-top would be short.
The New Doo
But, compare it to this one taken in October 2010. There's significantly more hair (and beard too) than in the new me.
The Old Me
It took a bit of rooting around in the old photo archives to find a photo of me - much less showing the unfettered look. It's just too hot down here to not have that length tied up in a pony-tail.

Anyway, you get the idea how much ended up on the cutting room floor. It's easier to take care of too. Wash, rinse, run a brush through it one time, and I'm good to go for the day.

Ok. That's it. Point that camera somewhere other than at me.

    Wow, you clean up pretty good! But I agree with Emily... a complete make-over is about all that will save you. Maye a buzz cut? LOL

    For someone living minutes from the jungles, I think you look alright... just alright. I mean I don't think you'd scare anyone (unless the light was just right)!

    Seriously, an improvement indeed and it has to be cooler like that..

    Last buzz cut I had was boot camp. It's lighter, but surprisingly, not cooler.

    Heheh, thanks for the shout out and "before" photo! Yes, I can see the difference. However, I think that until you get that hair up off your neck, you're still gonna be really hot. Maybe next haircut, try clearing your neck in the back. You've already gone half way, why not take it to the next level?!

    Hi Emily,

    You got that right. Baby steps it is. I still have a smidgin of rebelliousness and it's still expressed in hair. Which all started with the Beatles with us getting in trouble at school for combing our hair over our foreheads. That battle still continues, granted with a somewhat diminished flame, but... (fist raised in the air, and hair afly).

    I have a brother who usually sports long hair also, so I getcha completely, Dave. I prefer short hair on men, but I respect rebels as well!

    I was always amazed at how much ire that single issue raised on both sides of the issue - that is, until I went in the Navy. The sentiment, however, has stayed with me. I'm glad there were other things to become involved with.

    Hi LL,

    Actually, that photo was the result of me playing with photographic effects. I was going for a really stark b/w grainy look. It never met what I had in mind, but it was the only shot I could find without my hair in a ponytail.
