Work is about ready to get started once again on the bulkhead. This afternoon, after corralling the girls (tying them to the breeze way chain), I helped Emir unload a thousand bags - enough to keep his crew busy for a week, and enough that they should be able to get about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way done with the bag part of the project.

One Thousand Bags Looks Like This |
He said there would be another load of gravel showing up soon as well. I'm not expecting to see any workers here before the new year, but you never know.
Anyway, a little progress is still progress. I'll take it. I also checked the marl that was mushy behind the wall. It's really firmed up so, some of it may get to stay in place. If you don't know, once marl has a chance to settle Usually, as a matter of course, marl shoveled from one place to another, over a period of time, sets up almost like concrete. You usually have to use a pick to break it apart even after shoveling it.
Well, what do you know? I just had to take a break to re-tie the girls, as Emir came back and said a load of gravel was on its way. And here it is.

He also said that the crew will be here tomorrow morning and will be getting right to it. I was totally wrong about no one till after New Years. That's great. Progress, progress, progress.
