Living in Belize during the rainy season pretty much means that you're going to become addicted to following the weather. That probably means checking it several times a day on the Internet.
An easy way to do that is to use a Yahoo Widget called the "NOAA Hurricane Monitor". It's a pretty cool little thing, developed by Andy Ladner. It features a scrolling bar that tells you what storms are being tracked. You can view the NOAA tracking maps, view the latest alert messages, look at satellite images in any of three formats (visible, infrared, or water vapor), and view them either as a static image or as an animated loop.

You have control over background color, font color and several defaults as to areas you want to monitor.
I think this is a great tool. Last year, I asked Andy if he could add a couple of features. He was really responsive. He also added the new NOAA surge mapping product for this season's version. It's pretty complete yet takes up very little real estate on your screen. It's free and best of all, it works.

Unfortunately, adding an image to your comment can't be done directly. The only way you can do it is to include the URL of the image from a hosing server, which means that first, you must upload your image to Flickr, Dropbox, or some other image hosting server.
Not very good, but that's all that is available right now.
