Sixty-Seven

Sixty-Seven represents the number of years Nelson Mandela spent fighting for freedom and justice in South Africa. Every one in the world is challenged and encouraged to "be like Mandela" for 67 minutes today.

Today is Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday. He is one of the people I admire most. I took the time a couple of years ago to read his autobiography, "Long Walk to Freedom" and his collected speeches. I was struck by the consistency of his message of peace and understanding, even while imprisoned for 27 years on Roben Island in South Africa.

It's too bad more leaders throughout the world don't try to emulate this man. We would all be better off for it if they did.

Happy birthday, Madiba!

Not very good, but that's all that is available right now.
