It's Been A Long, Long, Long, Long Time

In fact, it's been a little over a year since we've done any real work on the guesthouse. (See Update on Guesthouse of March 29, 2009). Actually, work had stopped a few days or even a week or two before that.

Well, work has officially re-commenced.
Esidoro and his guys arriving on-scene this morning
After a good additional two or three week delay from when they were supposed to start, they showed up this morning with a load of lumber and their tools. Of course, right away I had to hot-foot it into town and get a couple pounds of nails so they could begin putting up the scaffolding inside in preparation for starting plastering (or 'parging' for those of you who need correct terminology).
Starting to Unload the Lumber
As soon as they pulled in, the guys started unloading the lumber for the scaffolding. No time wasted easing into the work day.

Once they had the nails, it went quick. By mid-morning, they were already slinging the first coat of mud onto the ceiling.

The youngest brother was sent down into the septic tank - which was not as bad as it sounds. It hasn't been used. He had to remove the forms and supporting sticks that were still down there. It is, however, pretty warm and humid down there, regardless.
Down In the Hole
It is so nice to have some real progress, finally. It's even harder to believe that it's been over a year since we've done anything. Time sure flies...

Not very good, but that's all that is available right now.
